BACHELOR OF NURSING (HONS)
The degree is optional for the R879 (Regulation of the SANC) product.
The Purpose
- To strengthen research skills, managerial skills and educational skills acquired at Bachelor’s degree level.
- To develop a specialisation in the area of interest so as to improve the quality of care through proper planning and input to policy formulation.
- To conduct research for the improvement of nursing and health services and to utilise research for the provision of quality care.
- To increase the understanding of dynamics in health care and health service.
Entry Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in the field of nursing or equivalent
- Proof of registration with the South African Nursing Council
- Proof of membership with any South African Nursing Professional Organisation.
- The candidate must have obtained 60% in the area of specialisation or have passed an additional entry examination designed for candidates who obtained less than 60% in the area of specialisation at the Bachelor’s degree level.
- Students who have conducted a research project may be credited.
