WSU is honoured to welcome alumna, Ms Chriselda Lewis, as the Programme Director for the 2025 Vice-Chancellor’s Distinguished Awards which will be hosted this afternoon.
A graduate of Walter Sisulu University's Journalism programme (Class of 2003), Chriselda Lewis has become one of South Africa’s most respected and recognisable broadcast journalists.
With 22 years of experience across print, radio and television, she currently hosts the flagship Prime Time News on SABC TV, and anchors 'The Agenda' every weekend on SABC Channel 404.

During her career, she covered Zimbabwe's elections, including the recent polls, The Fall of Robert Mugabe, the 2015 Nigerian elections, and worked in the volatile trenches of the DRC in 2017 covering South African troops on peacekeeping missions.
