All applicants with non-South African School-leaving matric/Grade 12 results require a certificate of foreign exemption from the Matriculation Board of South Africa for admission into an undergraduate qualification . Once an international student is accepted into Walter Sisulu University, they must provide a range of documents to complete the enrollment process. However, here are some common documents that international students may need: 

1. Valid Passport: A valid passport is usually required for identification purposes and to verify the student's nationality. 

2. Valid Study Visa: After being admitted to Walter Sisulu University, international students will need to obtain a Study visa. This typically requires additional documentation, including the letter of acceptance from Walter Sisulu University. 

3. Valid Health Insurance\Medical Aid : Is required for international students to have health insurance\Medical aid coverage while studying to the university. Proof of health insurance\Medical aid may need to be provided during the enrollment process. 

Refugees and asylum seekers generally do not require study visas or health insurance/medical aid to gain access to Walter Sisulu University. A refugee is a person whox has been granted asylum status and protection in terms of the section 24 of Refugee Act No 130 of 1998. An asylum seeker is a person who has fled his or her country of origin and is seeking recognition and protection as a refugee in the Republic of South Africa, and whose application is still under consideration. 

Apply for Study Visa: Using the Letter of Acceptance as part of the application documentation, the student applies for a study visa (or student visa) at the relevant embassy or consulate. This visa is specifically for attending Walter Sisulu University.
