8.1 DEPARTMENT STUDENT ADVISORS \

The Directorate of Learning and Teaching provides students with academic advisory services.

8.2  DIRECTORATE FOR LEARNING AND TEACHING SERVICES

The directorate for Learning and Teaching provides the following services to all faculties and departments.

  • Student orientation
  • Student training in Technology Assisted Learning
  • Peer Assistant Learning and Leadership
  • Academic Writing

8.3    STUDENT WELLNESS INFORMATION ETC.

The unit responsible for student wellness is Student Counselling Unit Services. The unit is situated at NMD Site, Mthatha Campus. The services provided are for individual counselling, therapy and educational counselling, career counselling, group counselling, family counselling, couples counselling and psychological and psychometric assessment. Students can access the unit to be assisted in finding a balance emotionally, socially, spiritually, intellectually, occupationally, physically, financially, and environmentally. DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC RULES

  •  Registration and Cancellation Rules
  • Students need to scrutinise their proofs of registration to ensure that they have registered correctly. In the event of a wrong registration, the period of registration amendments must be observed for students to cancel their incorrect registration and add the relevant modules.
  • Rules on Exclusion on academic grounds

       G7 and its subrules apply in the event of academic exclusion.

  • Rules of Progression (see Faculty Prospectus)

       A student proceeds to the next level when she/he passes 67% of the module the current level.
