Student Life & Co-Curricular Unit
The Student Life and Co-curricular Unit (SLCU) under Student Affairs is focused on providing support focused on welfare that nurtures acceleration of academic success for all students of the university in all their living and learning spaces outside the classroom through programs that are aimed at holistic development of students. The SLCU is a critical component of the University in the delivery of services that bring vibrancy to the student life. The unit enriches student life with empowerment programs that provide life-long learning and leadership experiences that will give students competitive urge in the work environment. The services of the unit are aligned to achieve the University's strategic goal 2 of enriching student success. It is a unit that ensures that students are well taken care of in the living and learning spaces and anywhere within the university surroundings during their time outside the classrooms. The unit’s mandate is to deliver extended hours services to both on and off-campus student accommodations as well as Oppidan students.
The SLCU has developed a programme of action for 2025 that will be used across the institution, with the aim to render student support and satisfaction through activities that seek to promote coexistence and teamwork in living and learning spaces and all campus surroundings.
The programmes are developed in response to societal ills and citizenry expectations also taking cognisance of varying differences in the personalities of young people, not only in character but also in their mindset, needs, problems, concerns, and expectations.
