LGBTQIA+ Support
The Student Life and Co-curricular unit is committed to creating an inclusive and supportive environment for all students, including those in the LGBTQIA+ communities. Each year, the Unit hosts awareness campaigns—such as community PRIDE marches and interactive karaoke events—to encourage open dialogue, celebrate diversity, and promote a sense of belonging within our living and learning spaces.
In addition, our LGBTQIA+ Envoy program offers peer-led support groups, providing a safe and affirming space for students to share their experiences, access resources, and help shape a in depth understanding of the LGBTQIA+ community for its members and the University community at large.
LGBTQIA+ Envoys is a peer-led support program designed specifically for the LGBTQIA+ community. Through open dialogue, shared experiences, and a commitment to understanding, Envoys provide a safe, affirming space where students can seek guidance, build connections, and strengthen their sense of belonging within the campus community.
Pride Month Commemoration is an annual celebration of inclusivity and self-expression. During this time, the unit hosts engaging events such as karaoke and picnics, allowing students to gather, share experiences, and raise awareness of the LGBTQIA+ community. By fostering understanding and appreciation, these activities contribute to a more welcoming and supportive campus environment.
The Institutional Pride March is a celebratory parade hosted on campus, aimed at raising awareness and honoring the spirit of Pride. By bringing together students, staff, and the wider campus community, this vibrant event promotes understanding, visibility, and solidarity for LGBTQIA+ individuals, helping to foster a more inclusive and affirming university environment.
