SOFTBALL TEAM MANAGER JOINS SOFTBALL NATIONAL TEAM AHEAD OF WORLD CUP
Institutional Softball Team Manager Nolwandle Nongauza has been appointed as Head of Delegation for the Softball South Africa Senior Ladies team ahead of Europe/African WBSC Women’s Softball World Cup Qualifiers in Valencia, Spain, in July.
“This is a very exciting opportunity as it provides me with a platform to fly the WSU and South African flag high on an international platform,” she said.
As Head of Delegation, Nongauza will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the team's participation in the tournament including coordinating logistics, managing team operations, and fostering a positive and cohesive environment for the athletes and coaching staff.
“It’s always challenging dealing with a team of diverse individuals, especially when we are operating in an international platform. However, I am determined to be a pillar of strength and support my team with all that I can so that they focus on winning the game.”
With an impressive background in softball administration and a deep understanding of the game, Nongauza said the skills she acquired in her previous team management positions, will help her guide and support the team on their journey to the Women's Softball World Cup.
“My latest appointment includes being appointed as Head of Delegation for the Softball South Africa Junior Women’s Team in 2017 where we were participating in the Women’s Softball Championships Florida, United States of America. In 2019 I was also part of the delegation that played in the Africa Women Qualifiers in Irvine, USA.”
Nongauza’s colourful portfolio in international softball started in 2007 when she was appointed as Team Manager by University Sports South Africa for the World University Games in Thailand, Bangkok.
