WSU STUDENT HEADED TO MULTIVERSE PAGEANT IN THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC
WSU Mechanical Engineering student, Chumasande Somazembe is set to compete in the Miss Multiverse Pageant to be held in the Dominican Republic in October.
The Dimbaza-born beauty will represent South Africa against a multitude of other contestants from around the world.
Speaking on her journey to Miss Multiverse, Somazembe said: “I’m nervous, but excited at the same time, because I know I will do myself proud hopefully the nation as well.”
Somazembe honed her modelling talent in her hometown Dimbaza, in Qonce, where she attended her secondary schooling at Kuyasa Secondary School.
In 2022, she was crowned Miss Universities South Africa, adding to her multiple wins in the world of pageantry. She has also competed and won first place inMiss Hot Legs South Africa, a competition which empowers ambitious young women through social impact.
“One thing I want people to know is that, to achieve your goals or dreams you must live them. Believing in yourself is having a beautiful and healthy introspection with your inner self. Always remember that the mind is the powerhouse, which always has to be positive and healthy” said Somazembe..
Following her multiple successes in pageantry, Somazembe sought to give back to her community through opening a soup kitchen for the less fortunate.
Her other initiatives include giving training to young aspiring models, which she says helps build their confidence and get them off the streets by giving them something positive to spend their time on. She currently has a Tik Tok account where she showcases her modelling trainees and has amassed over 3 Million views on the platform.
