WSU LAUNCHES ENTERPRISE SUPPLIER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME
Walter Sisulu University launched an innovative Enterprise Supplier Development (ESD) programme through its centre for Entrepreneurship Rapid Incubator (CfERI).
Participants received training on regulatory compliance, financial management, and business skills development, including marketing strategy, negotiation skills, customer relationship management and operational efficiency.
The Centre Manager, Nomafamily Nota said, “the main goal of the ESD is to empower and nurture both new and existing small medium and micro entrepreneurs (SMME) by integrating them into the supply chain.”
She added that the programme provides training and development opportunities for suppliers within WSU’s supply chain, as well as small businesses outside of its value chain.
According to Nota WSU has reaffirmed its commitment to empowering studentpreneurs and small business owners through its enterprise supplier development.
“WSU is dedicated to providing access to resources, training, mentorship, and opportunities designed to help businesses thrive. By prioritising the growth and success of these entrepreneurs, WSU aims to drive economic growth, create jobs, and foster community development ultimately transforming the future of South Africa’s economic landscape,” said Nota.
WSU hopes to transform the ESD programme to greatly contribute to economic growth and development by encouraging entrepreneurship, supporting students and local entrepreneurs, and promoting inclusivity.
This will ultimately drive economic growth, create jobs, and foster community development.
