Professor Beatrice Ekanjume
Professor Beatrice Ekanjume holds a PhD in Linguistics from University of Yaoundé I and is a Professor of Linguistics in the Department of Arts within the Faculty of Law, Humanities and Social Sciences (FLHSS) at Walter Sisulu.
She brings extensive international academic experience, having previously taught at the University of Yaoundé I, University of Burundi, and National University of Lesotho. During her tenure at the National University of Lesotho, she held several senior leadership roles, including Acting Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, and Head of the Department of English.
Professor Ekanjume teaches a wide range of linguistics courses and has an extensive record of postgraduate supervision at Honours, Master’s, and PhD levels. She is a prolific scholar, having published numerous articles in accredited, peer-reviewed journals, and is the author of three books.
She also contributes significantly to the academic community as an external examiner for several institutions, including the University of South Africa, North-West University, University of Fort Hare, University of Namibia, University of Eswatini, University of Zambia, and Charisma University. In addition, she serves as a reviewer for several international academic journals.
