WSU Faculty Hosts Successful Alumni & Friends Business Breakfast

The Walter Sisulu Faculty of Economic and Financial Sciences hosted a successful Alumni & Friends Business Breakfast under the theme “Building Strategic Partnerships as a Catalyst for Knowledge, Shared Responsibility, Innovation and Transformation in the Eastern Cape and Beyond.”
The gathering brought together alumni, students and university leadership to strengthen collaboration and explore ways of advancing economic development through knowledge exchange and partnerships.
Addressing the audience, Vice-Chancellor and Principal, Dr Thandi Mgwebi highlighted the evolving landscape of the economic and financial sector and the need for universities and alumni to work closely together. She encouraged alumni to play an active role in shaping the curriculum, mentoring students and contributing to innovation ecosystems, noting that universities must produce graduates who are adaptable, digitally literate and capable of addressing complex societal challenges.
Delivering the keynote address, renowned auditor and former Auditor-General Dr Terence Mncedisi Nombembe commended the initiative and emphasised the importance of sustained alumni engagement in building impactful institutions.
