WSUs KOMANI CAMPUS HOSTS A SUCCESSFUL PRINCIPALS LUNCHEON

Walter Sisulu University (WSU) held a successful Principal’s Luncheon at Komani (Whittlesea) campus, to network and learn more about the campus's dynamic learning environment, particularly from the perspective of the Faculty of Education.

The event was held on Wednesday 01 August 2024 and was attended by over 50+ guests, including industry leaders and high school principals from the surrounding areas.

WSU’s Executive Dean of Faculty of Education, Professor Bongani Bantwini, gave an overview of Komani campus and emphasised the faculty of education as one of the largest faculties in the institution.

During his presentation he highlighted WSU’s vision of being an impactful technology-infused African University.

“Our institution aims to recognize the vital role Principals play in shaping the future of education and to showcase our capabilities in moulding students’ success and academic offerings,” he said.

He further reminded guests on the pivotal role played by Principals in students’ future, “therefore the institution saw the need to enforce the quid pro quo between principals and the Institution based on the future of prospective students,” said Prof Bantwini.

Guests praised the event for its warm atmosphere, engaging discussions, and opportunities for networking.

One of the management team of the District, Mr Sondlo expressed his gratitude for being given the opportunity to engage and collaborate directly with WSU officials.

“It is clear that WSU doesn’t want to work in isolation, by bringing the institution to the people and I’m very much grateful for this initiative” he said.

Principals and representatives of the surrounding areas had an opportunity to present and ask relevant questions at the event.

Kholeka Sonamzi, Principal at Manzezulu Senior Secondary School stated that “WSU is making a huge change in our community by hosting this event, the interaction instilled critical knowledge making it easier for us Principals to encourage and help our students plan for further education.” he said

WSU extended its gratitude to all attendees, for making the event a resounding success with their support and engagements.
